HOW TO

Step 1: Make a Slip Knot

  • Create a loop with your yarn, pull another loop through it, and tighten onto your crochet hook.

Step 2: Chain Stitch (ch)

  • Yarn over, pull through the loop on the hook to create a chain. Repeat for the desired number of chains.

Step 3: Single Crochet (sc)

  • Insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over, pull through (two loops on the hook), yarn over again, and pull through both loops.

Step 4: Work in Rounds

  • For amigurumi (crocheted toys), start with a magic ring. Single crochet around the ring and join the last and first stitch with a slip stitch, or continue in a spiral without joining for seamless rounds.

Step 5: Increase and Decrease Stitches

  • Increase by crocheting two single crochets in one stitch. Decrease by inserting the hook into the next two stitches, yarn over, and pull through both loops to reduce the stitch count.

Step 6: Stuffing

  • Before fully closing the body, fill it with fiberfill or stuffing to give your creation shape and softness.

Step 7: Finish Off

  • Once you’re done crocheting, cut the yarn, pull the tail through the last loop, and weave in the ends with a yarn needle.

Step 8: Final Touches

  • Add safety eyes, sew on small details like ears or wings, and embroider any additional features (such as a smile or other facial expressions) to bring your stuffed friend to life!
